The former Minnesota Vikings quarterback recently talked about his old teammate’s future.

Before signing with the Minnesota Vikings in 2009, Brett Favre spent a total of 16 years as the starting quarterback for the Green Bay Packers.

That was until the Packers eventually forced Favre into retirement so that they could transition Aaron Rodgers into being their new starting signal-caller in 2008.

Due to this, most figured there would be some bad blood between Favre and Rodgers. While that might have been the case in the past, the relationship between the current Green Bay quarterback and the former Vikings passer seems perfectly fine.

What other NFC North team would Brett Favre enjoy seeing Aaron Rodgers play for?

Favre recently appeared on the Complex show “Load Management” and the Hall of Fame quarterback said that he would, “love,” to see Rodgers suit up for the Chicago Bears. The guys over at Bleeding Purple recently went over these comments from Favre and the chances of Rodgers actually leaving the Packers in the future.

Right now, the current Green Bay quarterback is 35-years-old. Rodgers said earlier this offseason that he’s thinking about continuing to play in the NFL into his 40s and he proved last year that he can still be a very solid starting quarterback.

Since the Packers just made their plans for the future pretty clear during this year’s NFL Draft when they traded up in the first round to select former Utah State quarterback Jordan Love, one could guess that Rodgers might be looking for a new team within the next two or three years.

If this ends up being the case, he will still be under 40 and there’s a good chance that he will have a bunch of teams from around the league that are interested in signing him.

While Favre said he would enjoy seeing Rodgers play for the Bears, it’s hard to predict how Chicago’s quarterback situation will look a few seasons away from right now. Maybe by then, the Bears will actually have a long-term solution under center and they won’t have a need to bring in someone like Rodgers.

As for Rodgers landing with Minnesota, it really depends on how the next couple of years go for Kirk Cousins. If Cousins continues to progress, then the Vikings probably aren’t going to be looking to replace him with an older quarterback who is near the end of his NFL career.
