There will be no throwing dice in the Minnesota Vikings locker room with Mike Zimmer around.

Mike Zimmer is known as a stern head coach who expects a lot from his players. Since becoming the head coach of the Minnesota Vikings, he has earned a reputation for being tough for those who play under him.

It appears that Zimmer established his tone early in the Vikings locker room. He recounted a story about the team’s locker room during a live stream while signing merchandise on the Mike Zimmer Foundation Facebook page.

During the story, Zimmer recounted his rookie season when he was at the team facility. The team’s equipment manager approached the coach to ask him if he was allowing players to gamble in the locker room.

Zimmer then said he went down to the locker room to see his players throwing dice with some money on the line. He confiscated the table and established that there would be no gambling with him as the head coach.

That story isn’t very surprising, as it fits in with the tone the head coach has established since his arrival in Minnesota. His no-nonsense approach to leadership has echoed through the organization and when combined with the smart drafting of general manager Rick Spielman, it created a locker room full of high-quality people.

The rest of the live stream was a ton of fun as well. Zimmer and his daughter along with their dog hung out on the live stream while the coach signed a large number of items for fans while answering questions from the live chat.

It is highly recommended to watch the entire stream for some really fun moments from the conversation to enjoy all of the topics, whether they related to the Minnesota Vikings or not.
