Which free agent players should the Minnesota Vikings consider bringing in for tryouts after the NFL lifted restrictions recently?

Teams across the NFL are now allowed to bring in free agent players for workouts after league officials lifted restrictions earlier this week. It has already seen a flurry of activity from those looking to further bolster their roster. And much more movement is expected before Week 1.

The Minnesota Vikings have been relatively quiet in terms of recruitment so far. This might be down to Mike Zimmer’s contentment with his current options. But it is more likely to do with their salary cap predicament.

They have a little more than $6 million at their disposal heading into the season. And the front office will be wary of what sort of impact a contract extension for star running back Dalvin Cook will have on this number going forward.

There is also the possibility of financial resources coming down to as little as $175 million in 2021 thanks to a decrease in revenue. This would be nothing short of a disaster for the Vikings. And it would leave them with plenty of difficult decisions next spring.

There are some areas of the depth chart that could benefit from additional reinforcements before Minnesota returns to competitive action against the Green Bay Packers in just under a month. And bringing in veteran players for a workout is something that should be considered if the opportunity arises.

Here are four players that the Vikings should bring in for a tryout sooner rather than later.
