Jefferson’s sky-high potential

Vikings rookie wide receiver Justin Jefferson knows he has some big shoes to fill this season. The “Miracle Man” Stefon Diggs is no longer a part of Minnesota’s roster and to help make up for his loss, the team will be depending on Jefferson to step up and emerge quickly as an offensive factor.

If anyone can help Vikings fans forget about Diggs though, it’s this young receiver out of LSU. This dude catches everything.

As a junior last season, Jefferson caught 111 passes for 1,540 yards and 18 touchdowns on 122 targets. For anyone who doesn’t want to do the math, he caught 91 percent of his targets at LSU last year, which is insane for the number of times he was thrown at.

To fully understand how crazy Jefferson’s catch percentage was in 2019, just know that former Minnesota receiver Cris Carter never caught more than 65.7 percent of his targets in a single season during his time in purple.

Toss in his ability to stretch the field and to also make plays after the catch, Jefferson has a shot to be something very special for the Vikings as soon as he steps on the field in Week 1.
