Jefferson led the NCAA in receptions during 2019

Justin Jefferson is not the type of player that we think might have the potential to blossom into something big. He also is not a wideout that has shown mere glimpses of stardom during his college career. He’s already accomplished oodles during his collegiate career and in mass fashion.

In 2019, Jefferson led the nation in receptions (111), he was third in receiving yards (1,540), and he finished second in touchdown receptions (18). Paired with Heisman Trophy winner and first overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, Joe Burrow, Jefferson was the premiere pass-catcher in a championship offense.

His abilities, as prophesized by NFL scouts and the Vikings front office, are not uncertain and do not leave lingering question marks. The man is ready to play.

Minnesota immediately needs a wideout poised to make an impact and Jefferson offers just that. He does not seem like the type of youngster that needs to sit behind a No. 2 or No. 3 receiver for a while and observe. He was “the man” of LSU’s receiving corps and should be able to replicate this sort of presence in Week 1 versus the Green Bay Packers.
