Which players have been overachieving for the Minnesota Vikings this summer?
In less than a month, the Minnesota Vikings will be back inside U.S. Bank Stadium to kick off their 2020 season against the hated Green Bay Packers.
Currently, the Vikings are in the middle of this year’s training camp as they try to figure out which players are worthy of making their regular-season roster.
Minnesota must reduce their roster size down to 53 guys by September 5, so there aren’t many practices left before the team picks who will be staying and who will be going. Of the players they choose to let go before the start of the season, the Vikings can attempt to place 16 of them on their practice squad.
Due to the impact of the COVID-19 virus this year, the NFL increased the number of guys allowed on each team’s practice squad. Minnesota can also protect four players on the practice squad from being signed by another team and six of the 16 guys they choose can have more than the normal maximum of two accrued seasons.
So far, the Vikings have held a handful of practices during this year’s training camp, and there a few players who have been unexpectedly performing well. Who are some of the guys that have exceeded their expectations during the first few training camp practices this summer?
