4 pleasant surprises from the Vikings 2020 training camp

Cameron Dantzler – CB
Unless you’ve been hibernating during the entire first few practices of this year’s training camp, you’ve probably heard how well rookie cornerback Cameron Dantzler has looked for the Vikings so far.
With fellow rookie corner Jeff Gladney still recovering a bit from knee surgery back in March, Dantzler has been getting more opportunities to work with Minnesota’s first-team defense in nickel formations and he’s been taking full advantage of his additional chances.
While Dantzler has still had the normal rookie mistakes here and there, he’s come up with a number of splash plays that the Vikings social media team has made sure to put out all over the internet for their fans to see.
Earlier this week, Dantzler first caught the eye of Minnesota fans when he made a diving pass breakup while covering Vikings receiver Adam Thielen. Then during the team’s very next practice, the rookie corner grabbed some serious air and picked off a Kirk Cousins pass.
Minnesota head coach Mike Zimmer has even called Dantzler, “a pleasant surprise,” so we obviously had to put him on this list.
