4 Vikings players who might be traded before Week 1 of the 2020 season
By Dean Jones
Which current Minnesota Vikings players could be traded before Week 1?
This is normally the time of year in the NFL where we normally see plenty of trade activity ahead of the new season. Teams like the Minnesota Vikings are looking to make improvements ahead of the upcoming campaign in a bid to be competitive. Others are looking for that one final piece that might bring a Super Bowl.
The Vikings have undergone some significant roster changes during an offseason of unprecedented disruption. They have been bold in their decision-making and somewhat ruthless in their treatment of veteran players past the peak of their powers. Whether this is going to be enough to make another postseason run remains to be seen.
Minnesota general manager Rick Spielman is always looking for more draft capital. This has been one of the primary features of his tenure with the Vikings and his selections have benefitted the organization considerably.
There still appears to be some uncertainty surrounding Minnesota heading into the 2020 season. Key contributors such as Everson Griffen, Mackensie Alexander, and Stefon Diggs are no longer with the franchise. With the likes of Xavier Rhodes and Trae Waynes also parting ways with the team for a fresh start during free agency.
The Vikings still have plenty of playmakers on both sides of the ball. But some of their current players could still find themselves on the trading block for various reasons before the team’s Week 1 clash against the Green Bay Packers on September 13.
Who are some of the current members of Minnesota’s roster that might be moved on before competitive action gets underway?
