Holton Hill – CB

Big things are expected of Holton Hill heading into 2020. Hill is set to possibly fill one of the starting cornerback roles following a host of departures in free agency earlier this year.

But his outlook could be a bit uncertain now thanks to the performance of a pair of rookie Vikings corners during this summer’s training camp, Jeff Gladney and Cameron Dantzler.

Both players have really caught the eye of Minnesota’s coaching staff and they seem to have adjusted to the next level well. However, with no preseason games on the schedule, it is still relatively unknown how they are going to cope in the coming months.

There isn’t a great amount of financial incentive for the Vikings to trade Hill. The former University of Texas star is heading into the final year of his rookie deal and will make around $750,000 this season. With the slight chance that he might end up being Minnesota’s No. 4 cornerback going into the 2020 campaign though, there might be some interest in him from around the league.

Hill’s progression was not helped by a suspension in 2019. He still has plenty to prove with the Vikings, but the team’s decision-makers might decide to cut their losses if the price is right.
