5 facts about the Minnesota Vikings we wish weren’t true

Before 2019, Cousins had a fumbling problem
For better or worse, you probably noticed that Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins did not tuck the ball and run all that frequently last season.
This was a bittersweet tendency for the eight-year veteran. Why? Because it reduced his inclination to fumble the football.
Signal-callers that tuck the ball and run at a frequent rate often cough up the ball at a more alarming pace. They are targeted in the open field by big, mean linebackers and safeties.
From 2015 to 2018 (the first four seasons that he was a starter), Cousins fumbled the football 40 times. So, in 64 games, he put the ball on the ground once every 6.5 quarters.
It was a problem and the 40 total fumbles (18 of which were recovered by the opposition) were the most in the NFL. The closest to Cousins in this metric is Russell Wilson and Blake Bortles as both of these men had 39 fumbles from 2015 to 2018.
There is hope, though. Cousins only lost three fumbles in 2019.
