5 facts about the Minnesota Vikings we wish weren’t true

Minnesota stinks at Soldier Field
This one dates further back than Mike Zimmer’s time in Minnesota. It just has to.
Since the dawn of the new millennium, the Vikings are 4-16 (.200) at Soldier Field. One in every five times the team travels to Chicago to face the Bears, they leave town with a victory. Frankly, Minnesota is better off playing on the road at the Green Bay Packers, as they’ve won 30 percent of the time at Lambeau Field since 2000.
There was even a stretch from 2008 to 2014 where the Vikings lost seven consecutive times at Soldier Field. That includes the 2009 Minnesota team that finished with a 12-4 record and made it to the NFC Championship.
It’s even more frustrating because it’s only the Bears and not some organization like New England or the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Chicago habitually has bland offenses and they rely on staunch defense instead. In the last two decades, the Bears hold an overall winning percentage of .491, which is 18th-best in the NFL.
The Vikings have beat the 18th-best team in the league on the road just four times in 20 years. Let this be a lesson. No matter how good Minnesota might be during a given season and no matter how uneventful the Bears may appear, winning at Soldier Field has proven to be a strenuous undertaking for the guys in purple.
