Could the Minnesota Vikings make a bombshell trade before Week 1 to boost their postseason chances?

It has been another dramatic offseason for the Minnesota Vikings. Their roster has a completely different feel to it following a host of veteran departures in recent months. But they still have every chance of being competitive in 2020.

There could be more twists and turns to come in terms of player movement before the Minnesota Vikings take the field for their Week 1 encounter against the Green Bay Packers. This is normally the time of year when teams are looking for reinforcements or that one missing piece in the trade market and the front office has already proven to be bold in their decision-making ahead of the new campaign.

Trading Stefon Diggs to the Buffalo Bills is the obvious move that springs to mind. The talented but petulant wide receiver got his wish for pastures new. But the former Maryland standout might be in for a bit of a culture shock with Josh Allen distributing the football.

If the Vikings are all-in on quarterback Kirk Cousins getting them to a Super Bowl, then making a bombshell trade in the coming weeks is not out of the realms of possibility. This is something Minnesota has done throughout their history with mixed success, but the window of opportunity appears to be closing with this current group.

Big changes were made in a bid to preserve their long and short-term aspirations during free agency and the 2020 NFL Draft. If the Vikings choose to go in this direction, here are four players that might be worth considering.
