Quarterback uncertainty elsewhere

The Vikings and Lions might be in a privileged position with the productive quarterbacks that they have under center for the foreseeable future. But the same cannot be said for their other NFC North rivals.

This is especially evident with the Bears, who have a 50/50 battle going on for the No. 1 quarterback spot between Mitchell Trubisky and Nick Foles.

Chicago head coach Matt Nagy is not giving much away as to his preference for the starter, but how they perform this season could ultimately depend on which signal-caller he goes with.

Trubisky is in danger of becoming one of the biggest draft busts in recent memory. The fact he was taken ahead of Deshaun Watson and Patrick Mahomes already looks to be a critical error from the Bears. And the jury is still out regarding his long-term ability to be a prominent starter.

Foles has a Super Bowl ring to his name, although things have not gone to plan after his memorable triumph. His big-money move to the Jacksonville Jaguars was nothing short of a disaster and it remains to be seen just how much of a confidence knock this was for him.

The situation with the Packers is not as concerning, but there does appear to be friction building between Aaron Rodgers and the organization.

Instead of drafting him a talented offensive weapon in the deepest wide receiver class of a generation, Green Bay opted to select quarterback Jordan Love as a potential long-term replacement for their current No. 1 option.

This was a huge slap in the face, whichever way one looks at it. Rodgers might be making all the right noises before the season, but his frustrations will be there for all to see if things do not get off to a good start.
