The Vikings will win the NFC North

There’s a lot of good and bad for the Vikings heading into 2020, but we’re not really sure what they have thanks to the lack of preseason games. When the Vikings hit the field in Week 1, it will be the first anyone has seen of the team and with the media not attending practice this past week, this could be a much different team than we think.

That being said, the teams the Vikings are competing with didn’t exactly have home run offseasons themselves. The Packers didn’t draft a wide receiver to help Aaron Rodgers. The Bears stuck with Mitchell Trubisky as their starting quarterback. The Lions still have Matt Patricia pulling the strings. In other words, this race should be wide open.

Prior to the Ngakoue trade, I thought this was a team that was destined to go 7-9. That could still be the case with an offensive and defensive line that has major weaknesses and a group of inexperienced corners, but added pressure on opposing quarterbacks can have a residual effect on the rest of the defense, thus making it better.

That also leads the Vikings to play their game, which is leaning on their defense to get the lead early and establishing the run to bleed the clock. If they’re able to do that, they should be toward the top of the division.
