The Vikings will come up short of the Super Bowl, but have a bright future

Even though they play in a winnable division, the Vikings’ holes will make it hard to keep up with the rest of the NFC in 2020. This year’s NFC has plenty of contenders, but it’s hard to take the Vikings seriously with what they have to go up against.

Dallas should be better with the addition of Mike McCarthy and the addition of CeeDee Lamb in the draft. Tampa Bay should improve if Tom Brady doesn’t throw 30 interceptions. The Vikings have had the Saints’ number, but they are having their version of “The Last Dance” for Drew Brees.

The entire NFC West is full of contenders and there’s always a chance someone in their own division could surprise them and make a run at a divisional crown.

Unlike the AFC, which should come down to Kansas City and Baltimore, the Vikings simply have more threats to deal with. Mix in a schedule that will be much tougher than a year ago, it’s unrealistic to think this team can get to the Super Bowl for the first time in 43 years.
