4: Everson Griffen and Brian Robison (2010 – 2017)

  • 8 seasons
  • 247 games
  • 109.5 sacks

Everson Griffen makes his second appearance in the ranking this time with Brian Robison. The fourth and fifth place players respectively in career sacks for the Vikings played together for eight seasons, the second-most in the ranking. This longevity helped to place the duo fourth in the ranking.

Robison, a fourth-round draft pick of the Vikings out of Texas in 2007 did not become a full-time starter at right defensive end until 2011. Griffen, a first-round draft pick from USC in 2010, joined him as a starter as the left defensive end in 2014. Robison played his entire 11-year NFL career with the Vikings and finished with 60 sacks. While not flashy, Robison was a steady contributor never achieving double-digit sacks in a season.

This duo only averaged 13.7 sacks per season.

3: Jared Allen and Brian Robison (2008 – 2013)

  • 6 seasons
  • 190 games
  • 120 sacks

Jared Allen’s third appearance in the ranking is Robison’s second. In Robison’s 11 years with the Vikings, he played alongside four of the top 10 career sack leaders—Allen, Kevin Williams, Griffen, and Danielle Hunter. No doubt playing alongside these great players helped propel Robison to fifth on the Vikings’ career sack list.

This duo accounted for 120 sacks in the six seasons they played together anchoring the opposite ends of the defensive line. Robison was Allen’s teammate the entire time Allen was with the Vikings. A fourth-round draft pick in 2007, Robison did not break into the starting lineup at left defensive end until 2011 following the departure of Ray Edwards.

Allen was the dominating half of this duo that averaged 20 sacks per season—the highest in the ranking.
