Predicting the Minnesota Vikings record during the 2020 season
By Adam Patrick
Playoff Predictions
NFC Playoffs Seeds
- Dallas Cowboys
- Minnesota Vikings
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- Seattle Seahawks
- New Orleans Saints
- Los Angeles Rams
- Carolina Panthers
Wild-Card Round
- Vikings beat Panthers
- Rams beat Bucs
- Seahawks beat Saints
In his second trip back to Minnesota this season, former Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater will fall just short of leading the Panthers to an upset victory over his old team. Speaking of an upset, the Rams will go into Tampa Bay and shock the world with a win over mighty Tom Brady and the Bucs. As for the Saints, their old playoff demons will come creeping back again and result in another first-round exit.
Divisional Round
- Vikings beat Seahawks
- Cowboys beat Rams
Minnesota already proved during the regular season that they are capable of defeating the Seahawks, so they’ll use the same formula and get another win this time as well. As for Los Angeles, their excitement after knocking off Tampa Bay will be short-lived as the top-seeded Cowboys will have no trouble sending the Rams home packing.
NFC Championship
- Vikings beat Cowboys
In a matchup against one of his former teams, Mike Zimmer will be doing everything he can to make sure the Vikings leave the field with a win over Dallas. With Zimmer in charge, Minnesota’s last two matchups with the Cowboys have been decided by four points or fewer. This game will be similar and it will be Minnesota who punches their ticket to the Super Bowl for the first time since 1976.
Super Bowl LV
- Steelers beat Vikings
In a rematch of Super Bowl IX, the Vikings will be going up against a Steelers team that will feature several similarities to the purple and gold.
Pittsburgh will be rolling into the Super Bowl with the NFL’s top defense and a quarterback in Ben Roethlisberger, who will return to putting up some of the best passing numbers in the league in 2020.
This matchup between Minnesota and the Steelers will be a close one, but it will be the experience of Roethlisberger under center that ultimately leads the Pittsburgh to their seventh Super Bowl victory.
For the Vikings, getting to the Super Bowl will be a great indication of what is to come in the future for a team that is heading into the 2020 season with one of the youngest rosters in the NFL.
