Minnesota Vikings Unsung Heroes: Week 1 vs. the Green Bay Packers
By Luke Parrish
Which Minnesota Vikings deserve more credit for their performance in Week 1?
The Minnesota Vikings got off to a disappointing start to the 2020 season after a home loss to the Green Bay Packers.
The Vikings offense was able to put up points when they were on the field, but that was the heart of the issue. Minnesota’s defense could not get them on the field in a good position and Green Bay made them pay.
Dalvin Cook came to play after recently signing his big contract extension, adding two touchdowns on 12 carries. Kirk Cousins picked up some yards as things got out of hand, but he looked solid when he was given a chance.
On defense, there was not much to be proud of for the Vikings. Aaron Rodgers and company dominated from the jump. Rodgers finished with 364 passing yards and four touchdowns while Davante Adams added 156 yards and two scores on 14 catches.
Even though Minnesota’s defense was not great, there are some good things to take away from Sunday’s Week 1 loss. Let’s look at some of the Vikings’ unsung heroes of the week.
