Offensive MVP

Adam Thielen – WR

Some fans and experts were wondering coming into the 2020 NFL season if Adam Thielen could be as effective in 2020 without being paired with Stefon Diggs. This game showed that the Minnesota native can get it done no matter what the situation.

It was clear from the start that Kirk Cousins is most comfortable when throwing Thielen’s way. In fact, Kirk threw twice as many passes Adam’s way than any other pass-catcher on the team. Even though it was only eight total targets, they paid dividends.

Thielen hauled in six of the eight passes thrown his way, racking up 110 yards and finding the end zone twice in the game. While other receivers looked to be shaking off some rust from a lack of preseason, number 19 looked like he was in postseason form already.

The connection between Cousins and Thielen will be something to watch as the year goes on because the Vikings quarterback will need to spread the ball around to be successful. However, it will be hard not to throw to a pass-catcher as reliable and explosive as Thielen.
