The Colts cornerbacks are not stifling

Foremost, Xavier Rhodes was a tremendous player during the majority of his seven-year stint with the Vikings. The franchise owes him a sizable debt of gratitude. Minnesota was the benefactor of Rhodes’ prime and he will be remembered for his lockdown tendencies — especially in 2016 and 2017 — by members of the front office and Minnesota loyalists.

Last March, the Vikings opted not to retain Rhodes services and the 30-year-old, three-time Pro Bowler joined the Colts. He did not have an overly successful debut with his new team last week, but perhaps he will eventually settle in.

In the meantime, Rhodes, Rock Ya-Sin, and Khari Willis round out the list of notable cornerbacks patrolling the Indianapolis secondary. The group frittered away three touchdown passes to Jaguars quarterback Gardner Minshew last week en route to a 142.3 passer-rating-allowed. It was the highest passer rating of Minshew’s career.

With this news, Kirk Cousins should salivate.
