Which Minnesota Vikings players could make sports bettors the most money in Week 2?

Under Mike Zimmer, the Minnesota Vikings have become accustomed to beginning their seasons with a victory. However, the Vikings were unable to get the job done during their first matchup of 2020 against the Green Bay Packers last week.

Despite the loss, a few of Minnesota’s players were still able to put up some pretty impressive numbers. Kirk Cousins threw for 259 yards and two touchdowns, Dalvin Cook made two trips to the end zone, and Adam Thielen hauled in six passes for 110 yards and two scores.

The Vikings defense was a much different story in last week’s loss to the Packers. But against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, it wouldn’t be surprising if Cousins, Cook, and Thielen were all able to go out and have another impressive showing.

Which Minnesota Vikings player has the best player prop bet for Week 2?

In their Week 2 matchup with the Colts, Minnesota is a three-point underdog according to the Fanduel Sportsbook. Home teams are typically given a three-point boost in the weekly odds, so these odds for the Vikings and Colts are an indication that Fanduel views Sunday’s game as a contest between two pretty evenly matched teams.

As far as players go, Cousins, Cook, and Thielen are the only members of Minnesota’s roster the Action Network has player props listed for. Below are this week’s Vikings player props for the team’s game against Indianapolis.

Kirk Cousins

  • 1.5 passing touchdowns
    • Over (-148)
    • Under (+117)
  • 20.5 pass completions
    • Over (-106)
    • Under (-118)
  • 235.5 passing yards
    • Over (-112)
    • Under (-112)

Adam Thielen

  • 4.5 catches
    • Over (-150)
    • Under (+120)
  • 70.5 receiving yards
    • Over (-115)
    • Under (-108)

Dalvin Cook

  • 21.5 receiving yards
    • Over (-121)
    • Under (-104)
  • 3.5 catches
    • Over (+110)
    • Under (-137)

When looking at all of these and attempting to figure out which player could make sports bettors the most money this weekend, the choice has to be Thielen and his projected catch total.

The Minnesota receiver finishing the game against the Colts with more than 4.5 catches seems as good of a bet as any out there this weekend. Thielen is coming off a Week 1 performance that saw him haul in six passes and he’s finished with five or more receptions in 70 percent of the games he’s appeared in with Cousins as his quarterback since 2018.

Combine the fact that Thielen gets to go against former Vikings cornerback Xavier Rhodes on Sunday (who gave up a touchdown last Sunday) and the receiver ending Week 2 with more than 4.5 catches seems like easy money.
