Minnesota will win a shootout in Indianapolis

Through the first three quarters of the Vikings’ game with the Packers last week, the Minnesota offense appeared to be stuck in the mud. Once down 29-10, the Vikings showed some of the promise that many had for them at the beginning of the season. That late performance could translate to Sunday.

It’s unrealistic to expect Minnesota’s defense to magically figure things out over the course of the week, but Aaron Rodgers was also really good in Week 1. Unlike Rodgers, Rivers made a pair of unforced errors against the Jaguars and that was the difference in the game which could foreshadow this week’s matchup.

The Vikings should be better offensively and Mike Zimmer’s reputation should at least tighten up their defense from a week ago. If they’re able to sustain drives on offense and make some stops defensively, there’s a chance Minnesota could get their first win against the Colts since Jim Harbaugh was under center.

Prediction: Vikings 34, Colts 31
