Offensive MVP – Honorable Mentions

Last week, picking the honorable mentions for the Vikings offense was a bit of a challenge. This week, the team lacked the garbage time output from their season opener against the Packers and the output definitely reflects that.

With Minnesota only having 11 receptions and 18 rushing attempts in the entire game, there was really no chance to get anything going to move the ball down the field, and getting past midfield was an extreme rarity in the contest.

Dalvin Cook – RB

It was far from a banner day for Cook, but there has to be some shout out for the only offensive player to put points on the scoreboard. The running back had the only touchdown of the day and converted the two-point conversion for eight points.

Otherwise, it was a pedestrian day for “The Chef” as he only had 63 total yards on the day from 14 carries. He added eight yards on two catches, but the team needs to find a way to get him more involved if they want to have success.

Nobody else

It might sound harsh, but any other praise here would be unwarranted. Minnesota needs to retool its entire offense quickly if the product the team put of the field during the first two weeks is their best effort.

This might not be the fault of the purple and gold pass-catchers because their quarterback earned a passer rating of 15.9 on the day with three interceptions. Yuck.
