Low No. 2

The Colts game was the very worst of Cousins’ career

In various analyses of Kirk Cousins‘ performance versus Indianapolis, some NFL writers have stated that the Colts contest was “the worst game Cousins has had as a Viking.” While this assertion is not untrue, it doesn’t encompass the entirety of the comparison scale.

Cousins’ game in Indianapolis was the worst one of his entire nine-year career in the league. He finished with a nearly incalculable 15.9 passer rating. His previous low occurred in Week 17 of the 2017 season at the New York Giants when he tabulated a 31.1 passer rating. This was also the final game of Cousins’ career as a member of the Washington Football Team.

It should be noted that one of Cousins’ interceptions was inconsequential as it was a hail-mary pass at the end of the second quarter. But even when that is subtracted from his stat line, it is still the worst game out of his 90 careers starts.

Ergo, this should theoretically be the lowest of lows for Cousins. He struggled immensely against the Colts and his passer rating cannot get much lower. Let’s hope a vengeance-filled rebound game is on the docket this weekend.
