This is a grasping-at-straws observation, but it is worthwhile. The NFL incurred one of, if not the most, vicious day in its 100-year history regarding injuries. While the Vikings were in Indianapolis losing, players of all shapes and sizes succumbed to brutal injuries around the nation.
From premiere names to average football players, the infirmary reached capacity. Notables included Saquon Barkley, Courtland Sutton, Christian McCaffrey, Drew Lock, Nick Bosa, and Jimmy Garoppolo. And, that’s just a small sampling of players that will miss time. The full list is horrifying.
The Vikings, too, were ravaged by injury. Anthony Barr was lost for the season to a torn pectoral muscle, Cameron Dantzler and Mike Hughes are questionable for the Tennessee Titans matchup this weekend, and Mike Boone suffered a concussion against the Colts.
It was an exceedingly violent weekend in the NFL. Thankfully, Cousins left Lucas Oil Stadium with only a list of on-the-field tendencies to rectify.
