Cousins and Tannehill are comparable

Cousins and Tannehill find themselves on NFL franchises that have been successful as of late — if you can block out the Vikings last two games.

That wasn’t always the case, however. Kirk Cousins arrived in Minnesota from Washington where he played on a football team that is now simply called The Football Team. That’s how embattled the Washington franchise has become recently, and the alleged reasons for this fall from grace are repulsive. Washington is undergoing an about-face and even found it practical this year to shed the racial slur it used as its nickname for decades. Progress.

Additionally, Washington has not won much of anything for quite some time. Cousins dragged them to the playoffs in 2015 and kept the Football Team just above .500 while he was the team’s starting quarterback.

Tannehill endured likeminded losing woes with the Miami Dolphins. The organization never fully surrounded its young quarterback with talent. Miami parted ways with Tannehill and traded him to Tennessee where his career has turned around.

Overall, Cousins has a career passer rating 96.2 while Tannehill boasts a 90.4. Cousins bests Tannehill in this metric but not by leaps and bounds.
