What are some of the keys to victory for the Minnesota Vikings when they take on the Tennessee Titans in a crucial Week 3 matchup?
It might not be do-or-die for the Minnesota Vikings just yet, but that time is fast approaching.
Their postseason ambitions prior to the 2020 season seem a long way off after the Minnesota Vikings lost their opening two games of the campaign. Going down on consecutive weeks is far from ideal, but it is the manner of those defeats that leave more questions than answers.
This is a disjointed group that is finding out the hard way that parting ways with prominent veteran leadership come with its fair share of complications. It was always going to take a bit of time to build cohesion with no preseason games on the schedule, but even the most pessimistic Vikings fan wouldn’t have predicted this sort of opening to the season.
If things don’t improve against the Tennessee Titans, then they can all-but kiss their playoff chances goodbye.
Teams that start the season 0-3 rarely factor at the business end of the campaign. It is imperative that Mike Zimmer comes up with the necessary adjustments against a Tennessee team that is riding on the crest of a wave following a deep postseason run in 2019.
The Vikings go into a home game as slight underdogs, which is understandable given their recent form and the fact they will be without the services of cornerback duo Mike Hughes and Cameron Dantzler. But if they can come together in the face of adversity, it might be enough to give them a chance.
