Brandin Cooks – WR

Minnesota’s young group of cornerbacks have struggled this season and the Texans will be well aware of this fact. Houston will try to hit big plays down the field the way the Titans did with Khalif Raymond and the man they’ll target a bunch is the speedy Brandin Cooks.

The Texans traded a second-round pick for Cooks and they will look to the game against the Vikings to get their biggest return off of that investment.

While Cooks hasn’t found the end zone yet this season, he does have 10 receptions for almost 150 yards. What makes him potentially more dangerous than fellow Houston receivers Will Fuller or Kenny Stills is his experience.

Cooks is in his seventh season in the league and he has plenty of veteran tricks up his sleeve. He can bait Minnesota’s young corners into seeing one thing and then make a quick cut to get open deep on them.

While it is encouraging that Vikings rookie cornerback Jeff Gladney appears to be improving every week, Holton Hill has really struggled for Minnesota this season. The Texans could try to get Cooks matched up with Hill and take advantage of a player who hasn’t been physically or mentally right when it comes to his coverage responsibilities this year.

Cooks could be in store for a breakout game this weekend since he gets to face a Vikings defense that has allowed a ton of yardage through the air every single week this season.
