The Minnesota Vikings had one heck of a game against the Houston Texans in 2016.

The Minnesota Vikings and Houston Texans are both 0-3 and desperate for a win. Last season, both squads won a playoff game but the chances of either team making it back to the postseason this year are looking very slim, with many Minnesota Vikings fans calling for the team to tank for Trevor Lawrence.

The last time these two teams faced each other came in 2016 at U.S. Bank Stadium.  The Vikings won that game 31-13.

Sam Bradford went 22/30 for 271 yards and two touchdowns. Matt Asiata rushed for 55 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries. Adam Thielen had seven receptions for 127 yards and a touchdown. Marcus Sherels returned a punt for a 79-yard touchdown and Brian Robison recorded two of the team’s four sacks.

For Houston, Brock Osweiler went 19/42 for 184 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. DeAndre Hopkins had five receptions for 56 yards and a touchdown. Whitney Mercilus had 1.5 sacks. Benardrick McKinney had a game-high 10 tackles.

With the win, Minnesota improved to 5-0 on the season heading into the bye week. It all fell apart after that as they finished the season at 8-8 and missed the playoffs.

The Vikings are 4-0 all-time against the Texans. This is a winnable game, but again, so were the previous three games. Being a road game makes this a tougher game and one the purple and gold can’t afford to take lightly.
