Dan Bailey – K

This one might be a bit nitpicky but Dan Bailey has now missed field goals in two consecutive games that have proven costly or at least potentially would’ve been costly.

Bailey’s miss against the Tennessee Titans in Week 3 would’ve iced the game and given the Vikings their first win of the season. The one he missed against the Texans last weekend also would’ve given Minnesota plenty of breathing room and it would’ve ensured the game wouldn’t have had to come down to the final seconds of the matchup.

While the kick he missed against the Titans cost the Vikings the win, the collapse of the secondary and the huge plays they gave up late was also to blame. It’s also hard to put too much blame on Bailey for the miss in Houston since it was a 55-yard attempt. But it’s his job to make those kicks.

Minnesota isn’t the type of team that can afford to leave points on the board this season. Bailey has to do what the Vikings pay him for and make his kicks.

Minnesota will likely be in a lot of close games during their remaining matchups and they will need their kicker to come through every time he trots out on the field.

To see Bailey miss two key kicks in back-to-back games is truly disappointing and hopefully, it’s something the Vikings won’t have to see again this season.
