It’s been a while since the Minnesota Vikings last got a road win over the Seattle Seahawks.

On Sunday night, the 1-3 Minnesota Vikings will face off against the 4-0 Seattle Seahawks.

Minnesota won last week in their matchup with the Houston Texans, but it has been a disappointing season for the Vikings. Seattle, on the other hand, could potentially make it back to the Super Bowl for the first time since 2014 as Russell Wilson is, once again, playing at an elite level.

This could very well end up being the toughest game remaining on Minnesota’s 2020 schedule.

Back in Week 7 of the 2006 season, the Vikings defeated the Seahawks 31-13 to improve their record to 4-2.

Minnesota quarterback Brad Johnson completed 15 of his 21 pass attempts for 171 yards and a touchdown. Vikings running back Chester Taylor rushed for 169 yards and a touchdown on 26 carries. Taylor’s trip to the end zone was the result of a 95-yard run (a franchise record).

Minnesota receiver Marcus Robinson had four catches for 77 yards and a touchdown while running back Mewelde Moore threw a 15-yard touchdown pass to Jermaine Wiggins.

Vikings linebacker E.J. Henderson recorded a team-high 10 tackles, an interception, and half a sack. Minnesota defensive lineman Kevin Williams wound up recovering a fumble in the end zone for a touchdown.

Despite their 4-2 start, the Vikings finished the season at 6-10 in their first year under head coach Brad Childress.

For Seattle, quarterback Matt Hasselbeck completed just 7 of 17 pass attempts for 127 yards and a touchdown before leaving the game with a knee injury. Hasselbeck was then replaced by Seneca Wallace who completed 14 of his 25 passes for 134 yards and two interceptions.

Seahawks receiver Darrell Jackson had seven catches for 136 yards and a touchdown while linebacker Julian Peterson had a game-high 12 tackles and two sacks.

Minnesota is 5-12 all-time against Seattle, including the past six meetings that have resulted in a Vikings loss.

For Minnesota to keep their current season alive, they need a win over the Seahawks this week. It will be very difficult, but crazier things have happened in this league.
