Offensive MVP
Adam Thielen – WR
The pressure was abundant for Kirk Cousins in Week 5 against the Seahawks. The Vikings couldn’t seem to block well on the interior of their line and defenders were able to get to the quarterback rather quickly.
Responding to that pressure saw Cousins look to Adam Thielen early and often. In fact, one-third of all of Minnesota’s passes went in Thielen’s direction with the veteran pass-catcher hauling in nine of his 13 targets.
Thielen led the Vikings with 80 receiving yards, but more importantly, two of his catches resulted in touchdowns. After falling behind due to a flurry of Seattle points in the third quarter, Minnesota needed someone to step up, and No. 19 was that man.
The constant ability to find separation and make tough catches is what will keep Cousins throwing the football Thielen’s way. Even with Justin Jefferson emerging nicely, don’t expect Cousins to stop targeting his most trusted receiver.
