Defensive MVP

Eric Wilson – LB

The Vikings made a bold decision after Anthony Barr went down to play with only Eric Kendricks and Eric Wilson in their defense for most snaps. However, it was worked out well as the two Erics have been able to patrol the field and make a lot of tackles.

Wilson was second on the team in tackles, behind only Kendricks. He had six takedowns on the day with four of them being solo efforts and two of them coming behind the line of scrimmage to get Seattle for a loss.

The final stat line shows Wilson with two quarterback hits, one sack, and one interception while playing the entire field. He and Kendricks have done an amazing job helping Minnesota while allowing another defensive back to take the field.

Also, it must be noted that Wilson played all 54 defensive snaps for the Vikings in Week 5 while also taking the field for 24 percent of the squad’s special teams snaps. Minnesota was wise to make sure Wilson stuck around for the 2020 season.
