Cordarrelle Patterson – WR (Chicago Bears)

Week 5 Stats:

  • 119 kick return yards (3 returns)
  • 38 receiving yards (3 catches)
  • 7 rushing yards (3 carries)
  • 1 tackle

Once upon a time, Cordarrelle Patterson was viewed as someone who could potentially develop into a No. 1 receiver for the Vikings. Patterson’s unique ability to make plays when it seems like there is nowhere to run was often on display during his tenure with Minnesota. But unfortunately, he was never able to establish himself as a legitimate receiving threat for the purple and gold.

Currently, Patterson is in the middle of his second season with the Bears. With Chicago, he’s been lining up all over the field on offense and he’s continued to excel as a kick returner.

In Week 5, Patterson’s playmaking abilities helped the Bears get an impressive 20-19 win over Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

During the matchup, the former Vikings receiver returned three kickoffs and two of them resulted in returns of at least 40 yards. Unfortunately, the Bears weren’t able to turn his long returns into points, but Patterson did end up making a nice 25-yard catch in the second quarter that helped lead to a Chicago touchdown.
