Dru Samia – RG

When he took over for Pat Elflein early in the season there was hope that Dru Samia would be a minor improvement over the struggling interior offensive lineman. There was the belief that no matter what, Samia couldn’t be worse. He’s shown that is completely possible. Samia is, without a doubt, the worst guard in the entire NFL right now.

The guy consistently gets overpowered and gets pushed right back into the lap of his quarterback. He struggles to sustain blocks in the running game and he has some of the worst technique that’s ever been displayed at the professional level.

In Week 5, his struggles were on full display for the entire nation to see and what they saw was a player who needs to go back to the bench. Samia not only accounted for a handful of pressures and hits to his quarterback, but he was also flagged for three costly holding penalties that killed multiple Minnesota drives. He’s a major liability out there for the Vikings and it would be shocking to see him get another start.

The Vikings need to realize they made a mistake on Samia and try someone new at right guard. It can be Ezra Cleveland, Oli Udoh, Kyle Hinton, or anyone off the street. It doesn’t matter, it literally can’t get any worse than Samia and any other player would be an upgrade.
