3 directions the Minnesota Vikings 2020 season can go from here
By Dean Jones
Turn things around and make the playoffs
All hope might not be lost for the Vikings. There is an extra playoff spot in both conferences this year and although it would take a monumental turnaround in fortunes, getting back to the postseason is not entirely out of the realms of possibility just yet.
One could also argue that the NFC isn’t actually that good this year. The Green Bay Packers, Los Angeles Rams, and Seattle Seahawks look like legitimate Super Bowl contenders. But the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and New Orleans Saints do have some kinks to their armor.
The Carolina Panthers and Chicago Bears are on the up despite a relative lack of expectations surrounding the two teams going into the current campaign. But the sorry state of affairs in the NFC East will ensure that only one team from that division will take their chances during the knockout stage.
This might seem like a pipe-dream, which it is. But the Vikings have overcome plenty of adversity before and only time will tell as to whether this group of players can do the same.
Can you imagine what this would do to the overall landscape in Minnesota? Getting to the postseason after such a sluggish start would give them the biggest of lifts during a time of increasing uncertainty. But there is simply no more margin for error.
