Minnesota heads into the bye week at 2-4

Everything you look at says the Vikings should win this game. They seem to be a team that’s improving and even their losses weren’t that bad when you consider where their opponents currently are in the standings. Even with the cautious optimism, there’s something about this weekend’s matchup that screams “IT’S A TRAP!!!”

Minnesota is a young team with an inferior opponent ahead of their bye. While the Falcons’ record says they’re bad (and they are), there are components of their roster that can make the Vikings’ life difficult on Sunday.

With the added chance of a Kirk Cousins self-destruction or Minnesota continuing to run their offense like it’s 1997, an upset could be on the horizon, but I’m just not seeing it.

The Vikings’ corners should take a leap forward against an Atlanta team without Julio Jones and Minnesota will head into the bye week with a chance to turn the season around against the Green Bay Packers in Week 8.

Prediction: Vikings 31, Falcons 21
