Which players should the Minnesota Vikings consider trading before this year’s deadline?

After the first five games of the 2020 season, the Minnesota Vikings are sitting with a 1-4 record. No team since the AFL/NFL merger in 1970 has gone on to win the Super Bowl after beginning their schedule with four losses in their first five matchups and the Vikings probably aren’t going to either.

Minnesota should still be going into each week attempting to get a win so they can possibly find themselves in the playoffs this season. But if the chances are looking less and less likely that the Vikings aren’t going to end the year with the franchise’s first-ever Super Bowl victory, then they should be thinking about the future and how they can contend in 2021.

One way they can begin to plan for the future is to acquire 2021 draft selections in trades with other teams. The 2020 trade deadline is coming up on November 3 and Minnesota has a number of high-priced veteran players that other teams around the NFL might be interested in dealing for.

Considering their start to the current season, thinking of ways to add more draft capital before 2021 is something the Vikings should already be thinking about. As the trade deadline approaches, who are some of the players on Minnesota’s roster that the team should consider sending elsewhere this year?
