5 reasons why the Vikings will beat the Falcons in Week 6
By Dustin Baker
Minnesota is overdue for a home victory
A nauseating stat: The Vikings have lost four straight home games. The last time they won a game at U.S. Bank Stadium was Week 14 of last season. That was a 20-7 win over the Detroit Lions that moved the team to a 9-4 record. Minnesota then traveled to Los Angeles and drubbed the Chargers before returning home to lose the final two games of the season at home.
Normally, the Vikings house is a raucous and nasty place for opposing teams to visit. That nastiness is subdued without fans, a measure instituted by the NFL, Vikings ownership, and Minnesota’s government in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
To put it bluntly, something’s gotta give. The Vikings rarely lose home games at all, let alone five times consecutively. Of course, losing a bunch “because they typically win” is not a gameplan. Yet, history suggests the Vikings are due to end this abysmal streak.
