Limit Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley
It appears as if Julio Jones is all systems go for the Falcons in Week 6. The stud wide receiver has endured a frustrating season so far due to a hamstring problem, but his presence in the lineup represents a significant problem for the Vikings that they need to overcome.
Not only will Minnesota’s suspect cornerback group be coming up against one of the best in the business, but they also have to contend with an emerging star in Calvin Ridley. The wideout has built on a promising rookie campaign with Jones off the field and this duo has the ability to make big plays at will.
In truth, there probably isn’t anything the Vikings can do to stop Jones or Ridley from making some sort of telling contribution. But what they need to figure out is how to limit their production.
That might be easier said than done with the players at their disposal. Rookie tandem Cameron Dantzler and Jeff Gladney are going through their expected growing pains, Holton Hill has been nothing short of a disappointment, and Mike Hughes has failed to make the most out of being the team’s No. 1 option due to injury and poor play.
Getting Jones back is going to do wonders for the confidence of quarterback Matt Ryan and the Falcons as a whole. How the Vikings cope with his substantial threat is going to be something that warrants monitoring closely.
