6 quarterbacks who could be the Vikings starter in 2021

Trey Lance (North Dakota State)
As the quarterback who spent his college career playing in the state next door, Trey Lance seems like a guy who is destined to play on the Vikings.
Despite playing at an FCS school, Lance is still regarded by most draft analysts as one of the top quarterback prospects in the 2021 class. Some even think he could end up as the first overall pick in next year’s NFL Draft.
Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, Lance only played one game this season (which Vikings scouts attended). But in 2019, the 6-foot-4, 226-pound quarterback completed 66.9 percent of his passes for 2,786 yards, 30 touchdowns, and no interceptions in addition to rushing for 1,100 yards and 14 touchdowns.
Like Justin Fields, Lance is more in the mold of the modern NFL quarterback. Due to his local ties, Minnesota might actually draft the young signal-caller from North Dakota instead of Fields if given the choice between the two in 2021.
