Minnesota Vikings MVPs: Week 6 vs. Atlanta Falcons
By Adam Carlson
Defensive MVP
Eric Kendricks – LB
After losing Anthony Barr for the season, the Vikings have been rolling with two linebackers for many of their defensive snaps, putting a lot of pressure on Eric Kendricks and Eric Wilson to play at high levels.
Kendricks has been up to the task this season and he did a great job of chasing ballcarriers around the field on Sunday. His 14 tackles were not only the best on his team, but twice as many as anyone on the Falcons defense.
Even more impressive is that 12 of Kendricks’ tackles were solo efforts, meaning he didn’t need assistance in bringing down opposing ball carriers. Plus, he had one hit on Atlanta quarterback Matt Ryan as well.
Being able to do anything Mike Zimmer asks him to do is what makes Kendricks so valuable to Minnesota’s defense and he will continue to be the cornerstone of the unit until proven otherwise.
Who do you think were the offensive and defensive MVPs from Sunday’s game between the Vikings and Falcons? And who else deserves recognition for their play in Week 6? Let us know your opinion in the comments.
