Defensive Unsung Hero from Week 6:

Harrison Hand – CB

The Vikings had their hands full with Atlanta’s passing attack on Sunday, but the rookies showed improvements.

Run support from Cameron Dantzler and Jeff Gladney were stout, which is always good to see from cornerbacks. However, a different rookie stood out in Minnesota’s secondary.

Harrison Hand, who has not seen much action this season, filled in for an injured Mike Hughes and did his best against Julio Jones. Jones had an enormous outing for the Falcons, but Hand did his part in limiting the future Hall of Fame receiver.

Hand recorded a pass breakup on Jones and allowed just 23 yards on five targets when covering the star wide receiver. With Hughes battling a neck injury again, we may see more and more playing time from Hand.

This season has not been ideal for the Minnesota defense but getting reps for the rookies will go a long way. Hand, Gladney, and Dantzler will be exciting to watch as this season plays out.
