4 young quarterbacks the Vikings should consider trading for

Easton Stick (Los Angeles Chargers)
Among the top quarterback prospects in the 2021 draft pool is current North Dakota State passer Trey Lance. The guy who Lance replaced in 2019 as NDSU’s starter was Easton Stick.
During his time at NDSU, Stick led the school to a pair of national championships and he finished his college career with a 49-3 record as a starter. In his final season at NDSU, he threw for 2,752 yards, 28 touchdowns, and seven interceptions while also rushing for 677 yards and 17 touchdowns.
In 2019, Stick was drafted by the Chargers and he has yet to throw a pass in the NFL. With Los Angeles selecting former Oregon quarterback Justin Herbert in the first round of this year’s draft, there’s a good chance that Stick’s first pass attempt at the pro level won’t come in a Chargers uniform.
Even though he dreams of late-round draft picks in his sleep, Vikings general manager Rick Spielman might want to consider seeing if he can acquire Stick from Los Angeles in exchange for a sixth or seventh-round draft selection.
It would be a low-risk transaction and at the very least, Minnesota would have a backup behind Kirk Cousins with some actual potential to develop into a starter one day.
