Which Minnesota Vikings players might be benched following their bye week?

If someone told you the Minnesota Vikings would be heading into their bye week with a 1-5 record, it might have come with a good laugh. However, this is where the organization currently finds itself after a start to the season that has been nothing short of a disaster.

Things seem to be spiraling out of control in Minnesota. This is as disjointed a football team as we have seen during the Mike Zimmer era and some substantial changes need to be made during this period of rest to change their fortunes for the remainder of the campaign.

That is going to be easier said than done. There are so many problems that need fixing on a roster that harbored hopes of another postseason push despite losing some influential veteran pieces this offseason.

Zimmer and his staff have their work cut out, not only in the coming months but also during another critical offseason period in 2021. They are going to be up against it from a salary-cap perspective in no uncertain terms and sacrifices need to make made with financial resources coming down to as little as $175 million due to a lack of gameday revenue caused by COVID-19 restrictions.

Some huge changes are coming. If not immediately following the bye week, then pretty soon after. Here are four players who could be benched if they don’t improve their contributions.
