Dallas Cowboys

The  Cowboys are looking like one of the worst teams in football right now. And yet, somehow, all hope is not lost for an organization on the brink of implosion.

This is due, in no small part, to the sorry state of the NFC East, which has been nothing short of an abomination so far this year. Dallas might only need six victories to win the division this year and reach the postseason. If they could somehow pull off a trade for Harrison Smith, it could be the catalyst behind a turnaround in their fortunes.

Imagine what Smith would do to the Cowboys’ disgruntled locker room, which appears to be a mess from the outside looking in. The Vikings have benefitted enormously from the safety’s leadership over the years and although doing the same in Dallas represents a substantial challenge, it is nothing he isn’t more than capable of.

The Cowboys are always looking at big moves to keep themselves at the forefront of media attention, which has the potential to significantly dwindle if things keep spiraling out of control. Trading for Smith would fall into this category and it might just be the defensive spark needed for a Dallas defensive unit that has been abysmal through the first seven weeks of the season.
