Davante Adams – WR

Davante Adams destroyed the Vikings in Week 1 and they absolutely cannot let him have the type of game he did in the opener if they want to win this rematch. Adams made Minnesota’s young cornerbacks look silly during the kickoff game of the season.

His route running confused Vikings corner Holton Hill and Adams found himself wide open many times. Aaron Rodgers was putting the ball on point and the Packers star wideout ended up with an eye-popping 14 receptions for 156 yards and two touchdowns. Adams was simply too good for the inexperienced Minnesota corners trying to cover him and it was evident.

If the Vikings are going to do better against Adams they’ll need to double or even triple-team this elite talent.

Minnesota is currently facing some injury issues at cornerback and there’s a good chance it’s rookie Jeff Gladney who is matched up with Adams this week. That is probably the best the Vikings can do at the moment as Gladney has played well in recent weeks.

Minnesota should give the youngster some help and roll a safety his way. They should also double Adams with whoever ends up playing in the slot and try to keep two bodies on him at all times.

The Vikings have to force Adams to have a bad game or worst case an average one, or they will undoubtedly be suffering their sixth loss of the season.
