Jaire Alexander – CB

Jaire Alexander was a thorn in the Vikings’ side during week 1. He made the costly interception at the end of the first half which led to a touchdown that put the game out of reach for the Packers.

On top of the touchdown, Alexander racked up five tackles, a sack, and a tackle for a loss. He had about as complete a game as a corner can have.

He also made life difficult for Minnesota’s receivers. He was able to contain Adam Thielen when the game was still competitive and he didn’t let up on the gas until late when points and yardage were only relevant to fantasy owners.

The Vikings have to do better against Alexander in this week’s contest. They are a little better suited to have success with the emergence of Justin Jefferson.

Minnesota’s talented rookie was barely targeted in the first game as only had two receptions for 26 yards. Since that game, Jefferson has been on a tear. He’s totaled 537 yards and three touchdowns.

Kirk Cousins also needs to be better at being aware of where Alexander is on the field at all times. Cousins hasn’t made the greatest decisions with the football in recent weeks, and if he forces a ball Alexander’s way, there’s a good chance it’ll come down in the defender’s hands.

With two playmaking receivers on the field for the Vikings plus Dalvin Cook running the football, things should be much tougher for Alexander and the Packers defense this time around. The only question is if Minnesota and Cousins are able to make enough plays to steal a victory.
