Minnesota has played the NFL’s sixth-most difficult schedule to date

A tale of two schedules.

While the Packers have been toying with injured and bad teams, the Vikings, by luck of the draw, have done inverse. Only five NFL teams have encountered a more difficult schedule than Minnesota. A tough schedule has done the Vikings no favors — the team is 1-5, with two utterly heartbreaking losses  (vs. Tennessee and at Seattle).

Nevertheless, the Vikings should have taken care of business before the bye week and flogged the Atlanta Falcons. Instead, the Falcons flipped the script. They were floggers, especially in the first half of the Week 6 game.

The Vikings schedule does get more reasonable, though. Starting with his contest at Green Bay, Mike Zimmer’s team will play the 11th-most difficult schedule to finish out this season. That is not something to be giddy about, but it is better than the sixth-toughest schedule that the Vikings have endured so far.
