The Minnesota Vikings pulled off a huge upset on Sunday with a win over the Green Bay Packers.

When the Minnesota Vikings took the field against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, there weren’t very many people who gave the guys in purple and gold much of a chance.

But with Dalvin Cook back in the lineup, the Vikings looked like a totally different team compared to their last performance and they were able to hand the Packers their second loss of the season.

With Sunday’s win in Green Bay, Minnesota is now 2-5 and fighting to keep some sort of playoff hope alive. The Vikings still have a ways to go before a return to the postseason is actually believable, but their victory over Green Bay should certainly give them some confidence.

Dalvin Cook put the Minnesota Vikings on his back

Against the Atlanta Falcons back in Week 6, Minnesota had to take the field without Cook and their offense looked lost without him.

On Sunday, the Vikings top running back returned and he looked like he was on a mission to make sure his team didn’t leave the stadium without a win.

When the final whistle blew against the Packers, Cook ended up with 226 total yards and four touchdowns on 32 touches (163 rushing and 63 receiving). Green Bay had absolutely no answer for him and it resulted in Minnesota getting their second victory of the season.

This was the Vikings first game after their bye and they played like a totally different team. Minnesota got back to basics by leaning on their rushing attack, controlling the time of possession, and coming up with key stops on the defensive side of the ball.

The Vikings will look to make it two wins in a row when they head back home next week to take on the Detroit Lions inside U.S. Bank Stadium.
